Feature Request: Add _CONTROLCHR _OFF to IDE
« on: August 07, 2020, 10:15:01 AM »
The Pop-up ASCII chart is an excellent feature and works exactly as it should.
Inserting multiples of the same character is a bit cumbersome, so after inserting a character I generally ctrl+c ctrl+v.
BUT, when you paste a control character into the IDE, it acts as a control character (For example, ASCII #10 clears a row).

I would like _CONTROLCHR _OFF to be added to the IDE.

Also, does anyone use control chars as control chars in the IDE? If not, maybe instead of having it toggleable it should just be off by default.

The IDE already operates in _CONTROLCHR _OFF mode (as can be verified in source/ide/ide_global.bas), or the ASCII chart wouldn't be able to even show the first occurrence of the inserted char. The bug you're reporting is related to the clipboard operations. Thanks for letting us know.
