QB64's inbuilt help -- non-functioning formatting tags
« on: April 17, 2019, 03:41:55 AM »
Not sure where bug reports are filed on here [apologies Mods, please move to Bugs] , but I have noticed quite a few entries in QB64's inbuilt help contain non-functioning formatting tags, for instance under DECLARE DYNAMIC LIBRARY:

Quote
Code by Galleon
Note: SUB procedures using CUSTOMTYPE LIBRARY API procedures inside may error. Try DYNAMIC with "KERNEL32".

<center>QB64 version 1.000 and up produce standalone executables. External DLL files must be distributed with your
program.</center>
<center>Note: QB64 versions prior to 1.000 require all default DLL files to either be with the program or in the
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.</center>

Thanks. The help itself is very good.

Here's another weird thing:

BTW: is there a way I can download that file and print it? There are times when I prefer traditional hard copy manuals.

Try updating that page via Help->Update Current Page.

All help contents are fetched from our wiki, print away: www.qb64.org/wiki

Also: all help contents are stored in internal/help in your QB64 folder.

Read more about the recent discussion on help here: https://www.qb64.org/forum/index.php?topic=1232.0

The contents of the help folder have been updated in the packages we're offering through https://github.com/Galleondragon/qb64/releases/tag/v1.3

On that SME page you'll also find a separate package with the updated contents of internal/help

Many thanks. I used the Update All Pages function -- still finding my around this wonderful version of Basic.

It's so good to be able to knock out quick stuff like I used to on XP without the overhead of Windows.

Good to hear :-)

BTW: You will notice when you update the DECLARE DYNAMIC page that the <center> tags have already been fixed in v1.3:

But we're keeping this thread in Bugs since the help still needs some attention due to the update on the wiki software:
